In February of 2018, @NS partnered with the Province of Nova Scotia, through the SHIFT Support Fund, to launch Empowering Seniors Through Technology. The project places trainers in eight locations throughout Nova Scotia to offer computer, tablet and general technology training to seniors in group and one-on-one sessions.
@NS recognizes that many seniors are being left behind when it comes to technology, while it could vastly improve their quality of life and help them be better informed and keep in touch with loved ones. Trainers are being placed in Pictou County, Sydney, Guysborough County, Halifax, Yarmouth, Kings County, Lunenburg County and Truro. All trainers are travelling to numerous locations in their respective areas to offer both individual and group training session.
