@NS’s vision is to ensure that everyone uses technology effectively for individual and community well-being and growth.

Our purpose is to enhance and empower individuals and communities in Nova Scotia through access to technology. @NS provides communities with affordable access in close to 200 sites throughout the province. In one of our community technology sites you can access the internet, learn basic computer skills, discover new and emerging technologies, access government services and online education, and learn and share with others!

@NS strives to ensure the potential of technology for individual and community betterment is realized. We do this by coordinating the resources within our network, speaking on behalf of our communities, and providing innovative and integrated programming.

In February of 2018, @NS partnered with the Province of Nova Scotia, through the SHIFT Support Fund, to launch Empowering Seniors Through Technology.

Since its inception, @NS has spent tens of thousands of dollars replacing and upgrading technology at Community Technology sites throughout Nova Scotia. This includes replacing aging laptops, desktops and printers.

Canada Summer Jobs

Each summer, @NS places several students (high school, college and university) at Community Technology sites throughout Nova Scotia, giving them excellent experience in the fields of technology and interaction with the public.

Digital Youth Internship

From December of 2016 to March of 2017, @NS administered a program that placed more than 50 people between the ages of 18 and 30 in internships designed to give them experience in positions centered around technology.
